TOAStで設計した「タンバリンハウス」が、雑誌『住宅建築』2026年8月号に掲載されました。
本計画は、築40年の「1階がRC造の歯科医院、2階が木造の住宅」となる混構造の建物の、住宅部の改修である。
本計画では、天井裏に隠されていた特徴的な「矩勾配の大屋根の架構」をすべて現しに。そのダイナミックな空間の中に、ホールのような居場所を据え、ラワン合板の曲面壁でゆるやかに囲いました。
「一つ屋根の下」にスケールの異なる多様な居場所を顕在化させ、架構がもつ本来の空間性を掘り起こすことを目指した建築です。

"Tambourine House," a project by TOASt, is featured in the August 2026 issue of *Jutaku-Kenchiku* magazine!
The project involved renovating the residential part of a 40-year-old mixed-structure building (1F: RC dental clinic / 2F: timber residence).
We removed the existing ceiling to fully expose the dynamic structural framing of the steep-pitched roof. Inside this expansive space, a hall-like living area was created, softly defined by a curved Lauan plywood wall.
By introducing various scales of spaces under "one roof," we sought to bring out the true potential and character of the building's original structure.
